Marry accidentally spills tea all over the idol, breaking her phone. Since Kido's ability can suppress Momo's, they go out to buy her a new phone. Momo, Kido, and Marry successfully distract the terrorists, allowing Shintaro and Ene to open the floor's shutters through the security system. Using Drawing Eyes, Momo grabs everyone's attention and swaps with Marry, who freezes them in place with Locking Eyes. The Mekakushi Dan regroups congratulate themselves on their successful plan. Kano reports that Shintaro had only been grazed by the bullet. Marry almost accidentally reveals them to the police, but they manage to evade them, and Momo greets Ene before they leave the shopping center. |

8. | Tsuisou Forest (Yen Press translation: Retrospect Forest) Shintaro is now caught up with how the Mekakushi Dan was also involved with stopping the terrorists. Kano introduces all the members of the Mekakushi Dan, including Ene as the 6th Member. Shintaro himself is forced to join them. The Dan decides to go to an amusement park at Ene's wishes, but with the shopping mall closed because of the terrorist incident they end up going to another amusement park in the outskirts of town. |

9. | Headphone Actor I After the roller-coaster ride, Kano consoles a worn-out Shintaro. Joined by Seto, they chat about the new members of the group. Noticing that Ene had gone to Momo's phone, Shintaro abruptly leaves to enjoy some time alone, but he's interrupted by Marry to go into a pair-only labyrinth. Afterwards, a distraught Kido recruits him to find Momo, who was left behind in the haunted mansion. After being terrorized by the mansion's monsters, they find Momo with a fake hatchet in her head, causing Kido to faint. On their way out, Shintaro discovers that Ene was in his phone ever since the roller coaster ride. She teases him and threatens him so that he'd continue playing with her, and she suggests that they play a shooting game together. Shintaro asks Ene where she really came from, and she replies that it's her "little secret." |

There, she runs into Ayano and they have a short conversation during which Ayano encourages her to be honest with her feelings. After she gets to the classroom, she decides to follow Ayano's advice and runs off to the hospital, but passes out along the way. |

A TV appears in front of her, showing a lab where she can see her own body, along with Konoha floating in a tube with Kenjirou standing in front of him. As her body starts to pixelate, the Snake of Opening Eyes appears telling her to "open" her eyes. Thus, she transforms into Ene. The scene switches back to the present with the Mekakushi Dan being watched by a mysterious figure. |

18. | Kagerou Daze I Back from the amusement park, the Mekakushi Dan encounters a mysterious man. He wipes out Kano's life in front of them and eventually forces Shintaro to witness one friend after another getting shot in front of him. Protecting Momo and about to get shot himself, a flashback of older times with Ayano occurs, where she questions why he thinks she had died, which turns out to be a dream as the young man once again wakes up in his bed. After having to deal with Ene's usual teasing, the hikikomori gets dragged outside by his sister and ends up suddenly running into a young admirer and her friend, Hiyori Asahina, and Hibiya Amamiya. |

19. | Kagerou Daze II Meeting her all-time favorite idol Momo, Hiyori, accompanied by Hibiya, swoons over the young girl. After some trouble with annoying comments from Hibiya and noisy passerby, Hiyori proves herself as a worthy bodyguard that defends the idol. The two children eventually manage to spend time with Momo and her brother. Hiyori gets a drawn picture of her star, as well as some photos full of memories with the others. Walking back on the street, Momo interviews Hibiya about his feelings for Hiyori, as suddenly a tragedy comes upon them, as Hiyori is about to get hit by a truck. |

She takes the opportunity to ask Shintaro and Ene if they saw two kids - Hibiya and Hiyori. Both make a surprised face, which tells Kido they did. Momo is looking for Hiyori when she comes across two people, Kano and Konoha, carrying Hibiya. Angry, she asks who they are, and Kano replies that they are "a secret organization". |

21. | Kagerou Daze IV Momo runs into Kano and Konoha carrying an unconscious Hibiya. After Kano mentions going after Hiyori too, Momo angrily orders him to let go of Hibiya, inadvertently activating her eye ability. As a crowd forms around them, Hibiya wakes up, and he and Momo run away together. On the other side, after Shintaro, Ene, and Kido finish their conversation, Ene tries searching for Momo on the GPS. Realizing that she's approaching them at a high speed, she soon runs into her brother, sending him flying to the ground. They bicker for a while before Ene suggests looking for Hiyori on the GPS. This search yields no results, leaving them all baffled. |

22. | Kagerou Daze V Kano and Konoha reunite with Kido. After recapping the situation and introducing Konoha, they realize that they are getting closer to discovering the truth of the "Kagerou Daze". Meanwhile, Shintaro, Ene, and Momo who is carrying an unconscious Hibiya, are trying to sneak back into the Kisaragi house. After almost getting caught by their mother, Momo and Shintaro try asking Hibiya about what had happened, but he cannot recall anything. The next day, they try searching for Hiyori again, but to no avail. They encounter Kano, who reveals that he's there to recruit Momo. |

23. | Kagerou Daze VI Momo and Shintaro are confused by Kano's invitation. He reveals that he knows about Momo's eye ability, which shocks her even more. Upon learning Shintaro is Momo's brother, he asks permission to borrow her for a while, but Shintaro refuses. Kano gives up, but as he is about to leave, tells Momo that Hiyori might not be in this world anymore. Meanwhile, Hibiya decides to find Hiyori by himself. On the way, he meets Konoha but only shoves him away, because he believes that Konoha sides with Kano. As he passes Konoha, the latter becomes sad and wonders why Hibiya hates him. Back in the Mekakushi Dan's headquarters, Kido receives a phone call from Kano about Momo refusing to join. Marry is a little disappointed because she really wanted to meet her. |

He wakes up surrounded by animals who are about to attack him, but a hamster, which appears to be the leader of the animal pack, stops them from doing so. When he tries to ask the chief of the animals where they are going, it replies that it cannot understand human language. It proceeds to tell the story of the snake monster of the forest and reveals that they are heading for its domain. |

She happily daydreams what it would be like to be a princess and to be saved by a prince, but her demeanor changes after she remembers that she is considered to be a monster. Seto, who ran away from the chief after he learned about his plans, is trying to find a way out of the forest. He manages to get a signal on his phone, and he is immediately contacted by Kano. After a short conversation, Seto's phone loses the signal again, and he slumps against a tree out of sadness. While he is crying, he hears a voice calling out for help but he cannot determine where it is coming from. |

27. | Kuusou Forest I Marry has a dream about her childhood. When she was younger, she would spend all of her days inside the house due to a promise she made to her mother. One day she finds her mother asleep, so she takes the chance to explore the outside world, but then she is attacked by two men. Although her mother attempts to save her, both of them end up in the Kagerou Daze. The dream is interrupted by someone knocking on the door, which startles Marry. Seto opens the door and asks if she was the one crying out for help. |

28. | Kuusou Forest II In a short flashback, Shion is reading Marry a fairy tale, which prompts Marry to ask why no one comes to their house. Her mother explains how Marry's grandmother used something like magic to find a place where no one could ever approach her. Marry still complains about how it is still boring, but Shion reassures her that someone will come to their house one day. Back in the present, Seto tries to convince Marry to leave with him, but she is scared due to her past experiences. He swears to her that he will help her no matter what, but then the chief of the animals appears and interrupts them. |

29. | Kuusou Forest III The chief of the animals appears in front of Marry's house and notes that Seto made it to the monster's domain without knowing the way. Seto gets irritated and berates the chief for suggesting that a girl as cute as Marry could be a monster, but gets embarrassed quickly after he realizes that Marry heard what he said. After Marry confirms that Azami is her grandmother, the chief tells Seto that those with red eyes are seen as objects of wonder and fear, insinuating that Marry has to stay in the forest forever. This makes Seto wrap Marry in his hoodie so she can hide her eyes. The chief sighs, and with a smile, leaves the two children alone. After Marry prepares her bag, the two of them arrive back at Seto's home where Ayano, Kido, and Kano are surprised that Seto brought a girl back home. While Kano tries to question him, Ayano steps in and cheerfully welcomes Marry to the Mekakushi Dan. |

30. | Kaien Panzermast I While Kido is leaning against a rail on a building rooftop, Konoha enters and joins her. They talk about Hibiya, and his cold demeanour towards Konoha. Kido explains that the reason for that might be because the children came in contact with the Kagerou Daze. She proceeds to explain how the Daze works, and how all of the Mekakushi Dan came into contact with it at some point. Konoha recalls the moment he met the two children, which makes him determined to help them out. Before he jumps off the building, Kido tells him that he and Hibiya can rely on them for help. Back in the park where the incident happened, Hibiya tries to remember what had happened. His eyes become red, which causes him to fall to the ground. While he wonders why he feels dizzy, Ayano interrupts him offering an answer to what is happening to him and Hiyori. |

31. | Shinigami Record I Hibiya is confused by what the girl said, which makes him angry. He accuses her of being a part of the Mekakushi Dan, which she denies, but admits that they are all monsters like her. She continues to analyze his behavior and tells him that he doesn't want to remember "that world" because he is scared of it. Hibiya has a flashback of Hiyori and him in the Daze, which causes him to fall to the ground and cry. Ayano offers to explain everything to him, so she uses her eye ability and begins to tell him the story of the first hero. |

32. | Shinigami Record II Ayano explains to Hibiya that the white cluster is the memories from the woman that created the snake powers. She then begins to convey these memories to Hibiya. Before the world was formed, Azami was watching without knowing where or what she is. As time passed and the world was created, Azami discovered new things and soon realized that she had a form of her own, though it is confusing to her. When she wishes for a more understandable form, she receives two red eyes. A group of humans show up in the cave that she is in and attack her, but they get scared off when they notice snakes. After the attack, Azami experiences pain and fear for the first time. She meets the snakes, and after a short conversation with one, she finds that she has turned into a human. |

33. | Shinigami Record III Azami is confused by her sudden change of appearance, to which the snake comments how the only thing it knows for certain is that Azami is trying to become something. Azami isn't satisfied with the answer, but the snake leaves her alone after she thanks it for its help. She decides to leave the cave and to search to find out what she truly is, though she doesn't find success with that. After she is tricked for the last time, she decides to live in solitude, in a place where no one would notice her. |

34. | Shinigami Record IV Azami manages to reach the least-noticed place in the world, which turns out to be a small clearing in a forest. She deems the place perfect for her to live and begins to plan on how she would build a shelter for herself. After nighttime comes, a white-haired man snaps her out of her thoughts. She doubts his true intentions and angrily tells him to go away, but his friendly demeanor confuses her. In an attempt to make him leave, she orders him to build a house for her, to which he agrees, surprising her even more. |

35. | Shinigami Record V Around three years after meeting each other, Tsukihiko is slowly making progress on Azami's house, though he is clumsier than Azami had initially expected. The two have become closer, with Azami being constantly concerned about his well-being and developing feelings for him. After he comes back covered in bruises and mud from one of his trips to the village, Azami learns that he is mistreated for his unusual appearance. Because of this, she tells him not to visit that village again. Tsukihiko asks her to be his wife, to which Azami agrees to. |

37. | Shinigami Record VII The snake has a solution for Azami's struggle, the creation of a never-ending world. While this idea captivates Azami, Tsukihiko is a bit hesitant, but he agrees to go through with it. After he leaves to retrieve his mother's old wedding dress, Azami and Shion get attacked by a group of men. This causes Azami to enter the Kagerou Daze alone, where she spends several years alone with the snake. Back in the present, Ayano tells Hibiya about Azami's snakes and Clearing Eyes' plan, before Shintaro arrives and interrupts them. |

38. | Children Record I During her search for Hiyori, Momo passes by Konoha and begins chasing him after Ene asks her to do so. Meanwhile, Shintaro, Hibiya, and Ayano are continuing their conversation. The air between them is tense, and while Shintaro questions why they are even talking to the girl, Hibiya hopes that she has some information on Hiyori. After Ayano reveals that the eye abilities that they have are putting their lives in danger, Shintaro becomes afraid for his sister's well-being. |

39. | Children Record II While searching for Kido, Kano runs into Konoha and then Momo. Konoha begins to explain what happened to him, but he soon turns his attention to a dark alleyway across the street. There they see Kido's body lying against the wall and Hiyori standing next to her with her eyes glowing red. Meanwhile, Shintaro, Hibiya, and Ayano leave the café and discuss the Snake of Clearing Eyes' intentions. |

40. | Children Record III Just as Momo calls out to Hiyori, a truck passes in front of them, and she disappears. She refuses to believe that Hiyori murdered Kido, and unable to handle that thought, she breaks down crying and passes out. After he makes a short apology to Kido, Kano asks Konoha to carry her body to the hideout and then turns his attention to Ene. He asks her to give him directions so he can take her home. Along the way, he explains how all of the "monsters" are related to each other. |

41. | Yobanashi Deceive I Outside of the juvenile care center where Kano just arrived, he meets Kido after she offers him her scarf. They introduce themself to each other and then head inside where they meet Seto. The three of them figure out that they have been assigned to the same room since they all have unusual abilities, with Kido being able to turn invisible, Seto able to read people's minds, and Kano able to transform himself. |

42. | Yobanashi Deceive II At the Souai-en juvenile care facility, Ayano, Ayaka, and a caretaker head towards the three children's room to meet them for the first time. Arriving at the room, they find that it is empty, but they soon learn that it was due to Kido using her ability to hide the three of them. Kido, Seto, and Kano get adopted by the Tateyama family, but the fear of being experimented on doesn't leave them. When Ayano asks if they are the medusas her mother talked about, Kido gets infuriated and slaps her, but is regretful immediately after. The two of them agree that they all should be a family together. |

43. | Yobanashi Deceive III After Seto's eye ability goes out of control, Ayano tries to help him out by blindfolding him. Her three siblings consider their eye abilities to be strange, so to help them out, she forms the Mekakushi Dan. Time passes, and Marry ends up joining their family after Seto brings her back home, which marks the start of the downfall of their family in Kano's view. In the present, Shintaro and, to Kano's surprise, Ayano run up to him to pick up Momo. |

Due to his implication that he will cause her harm, Hibiya swears to protect her but agrees to help him. When Ayano asks about the rest of her siblings, Kano coldly reveals that their sister was murdered. Devastated by this, Ayano breaks down in tears. Shintaro and Ayano, along with Momo, go to the Tateyama Family house, where Ayano begins telling the story of what had happened to her family. |
